The first annual Culture day, marked a day where we reclaimed our voice through arts and culture, existing in our backyard of Strathcona. It was a day we embraced our multiple talents within a creatively enriched community. Over 30 local BIPOC artists, dancers, designers, musicians, and activists participated. This was only a small portion of Vancouver’s beautiful BIPOC-CA talent. Our mission with this first event was to have every artist, performer, deejay, speaker, etc. properly paid for their work, and this event was the start.
